Let The Fun Begin1

Well now, Senator Obama is in Kuwait, after his foreign policy gathering credibility trip to Afghanistan. No doubt the fawning media types will be appropriately astonished after hearing of Maliki's agreement that obama's timetable of sixteen months for US troop withdrawal sounds good to him. Wow! they must be saying. This man's got it right, he is so prescient you know! How is it that this man who unabashedly brags that he never supported this "War", suddenly seems to know how to win the Democrats unwinnable war? (Please, no overdosing on Tums, or other stomach calming meds, please!) The very best thing Conservatives can do is to wait out this trip to the Middle East, plug our ears with cotton, and hum the Star Spangled Banner to ourselves.

Think about it. There is no way possible that Obama can not resist the opportunistic urge to seize this war he didn't want, and make himself look the Savior, one step up from his present status as a mere Messiah. Make no mistake either, no Republican, not the President, nor Senator McCain will stand up to this show boating individual. Gotta be nice, respectful, and above the grounded fray. Come to think of it, that's where the real problem lies. We have a president who would not lead a movement, and subsequently, had to lead alone. He wasn't all that good at that, leading a movement I mean. No Republican would step forward to support the president when he surely needed that support from friends. That's what treating Senator Kennedy to pop corn will do to you. After a nice evening , he trashes the joint, and the owner as well. But, we just have to "get along" with those Democrats, don't we? Ronald Reagan didn't ask for support, he led, and others followed. Now we know why Republicans are in such a state of affairs, don't we?

By the way, I have instituted a, "Who will be the first to talk about the greatness of America, and of the American people" watch. This is what makes this election, and the candidates, so reprehensible. They'll talk for hours about polar bears, tiny cars running on ethanol, evil oil executives, and how to extract ourselves and the world from the already upon us end of time. Not once will they speak in glowing terms of the people who make this country work, and always have. No, all we get is the promise of even higher gasoline taxes. The government is losing money it seems, as people are driving less often. So, the watch will go on. Anybody feel like making any predictions?

Grandson number two, at the age of six, is reading tv crawlers aloud warning us of severe storms. He is almost ready for history's great manifestos. You know, the infamous ones. He still hasn't gotten over Obama's pronouncement that there are fifty-seven states, and apparently not the fifty he has learned of. It is so sad to watch a youngster sit there with a frown on his brow, studying his map of the United States, and finding nothing. Come to think of that, that's what he sees in Obama: nothing at all. God, what a smart kid!
