Are these Legitimate Questions?

Of course they are!

Senator Obama's ties, whether religious, or of a friendly nature, or both, are at last in the forefront of public discussion regarding Pastor Jeremiah Wright. Now, the attacks will come to those who dare to question these ties. The truth, fortunately, or unfortunately, will be known. From that truth we will learn just whether or not the man who would be president is in fact fit, or qualified to be the leader of America.

Once upon a time, it was we the people. Once upon a time, there were men and women who shed their reputations, their fortunes, and their lives too, for this great country of ours. Once upon a time, America was looked up to by it's citizens, if not by the rest of the world. It didn't matter what the rest of the world thought of us, so long as we believed in ourselves. Once upon a time, Democrats and Republicans genuinely had a modicum of respect for each other, no matter the differences politically. Once upon a time was a good time. Things began to change in the seventies however, and picked up again in the nineties. Since those tumultuous time periods, civility has disappeared from the public discourse, and has been supplanted with the "GOTCHA" style of current day political positioning. Clearly, the Democrat Party has refined the technique, and uses it on a daily basis with total impunity.

Once upon a time is just that: Once upon a time in America. We have no one to blame but ourselves for the chasm that now divides us. We have allowed it to thrive, and now we must fight back. Someday, I want to be able to say to my grandchildren: "Once upon a time in America...".

And now, back to the never ending chore...
