The Day of Resurection

Having left early this morning for the cemetary visits, I couldn't help noticing how many people were streaming from the Catholic church at the end of the street. This is a large church, seating well over 1,000 parishoners at a time. Clearly, the numbers exceeded normal Sunday attendance. This brings up the question of Faith. There is little to fear regarding the demise of religion in America, I believe. For so many people to have gone to church today, is a sure indicator of a thriving belief in the Creator. Some may question the motives; some may see it as an expression of fear, rather than belief itself. It really doesn't matter, for on this holiest of days, the people came, and they prayed.

So too is it with the prophets of gloom and doom here in America. Just when they think their prognostications are about to fulfill themselves, along comes yet another profession of faith in all that is good about America. How long will it be before the best of us, the more worthy of us, step forward to reclaim their rightful place in our society? Not long, if events keep stressing our belief in ourselves, and our seeing the correct path ahead of us. Not Senators Clinton, nor Obama may steal our independence from an intrusive government, nor will they steal our self governance concept either. America is too resilient a country to allow any of this to occur on our watch.

Yes, this Easter Sunday was beautifully done. The annual observance of the Resurection has seen to that, and serves as a reminder that all is not lost. Not in death. Not in the hearts of men and women the world over. Certainly not in the minds, and hearts of the littlest among us either.

Now, back to the education of those precious grandchildren...
