Wet and Soggy

Yes, it was very rainy, and not a pleasant day to be driving. However, life and work demands go on in spite of the inconvenience of nasty weather. Spent the day in Delaware, and then Maryland, meeting nice people along the way, and accomplishing much in the way of work. No matter the rain that storm clouds may bring, there is always a silver lining somewhere to brighten the day.

Listening to news reports regarding the rather considerable hole Senator Obama has dug for himself, I smiled at the prospect of him searching for one of those elusive silver linings. In spite of his speech given at the National Constitution Center on Tuesday, where he earned an "A" for style, and a "D" for substance, the Senator now finds himself virtually in a racial checkmate. One has only to harken back to then candidate Romney's speech about his religion. The Governor found himself in the unenviable position of having to defend his "Mormonism". Great speech, but where did it leave him? Out of the race, that's where. In the case of Obama, he had a grand opportunity on a grand stage, and blew it. I wouldn't want to be in his shoes heading into the Pennsylvania primary upcoming.

The critical difference is that he is the one running for office, I am merely the one sitting back and observing the passing scene. Pressure is one hell of a burden to bear, isn't it? I believe moments such as these are referred to as character building. We'll see.

Now it is time to return to happier pursuits. The grandchildren beckon. I obey.
