On Vacation

A four day vacation is seemingly, better for he who does the vacating, than it is for those one leaves behind. The sojourn was idyllic, and rooted in my quest to bring fresh perspective to old, and tattered issues before us. From the news point of view, the democrat candidates seem to be on a tilt-a-whirl, slowly undulating to exactly where? Pressure builds for Senator clinton to drop out of the race before real harm is done to their chances of re-taking control of the presidency in November. Monday though, will be the best indicator of just where Senator Clinton is prepared to take the party, and the country itself.

The weekend was exciting for the grandchildren in many ways. From a hockey tournament in Lake Placid, to the baseball practice field here at home, both grandsons were quite busy. I spent the bulk of the evening watching video of the hockey tournament, and watched the youngest hard at his first practice of the new season on the local baseball field. In both instances, I marveled at the literal growth of them both, both physically, and in the skill levels they displayed. All in all, it has been rewarding, and a source of pride also.

For the last two weeks, I have been indulging myself in writing, creative writing, and old enjoyments have resurfaced within my heart. The new week will begin shortly, so let us prepare ourselves for the challenges ahead...and for the continuing education of those same grandchildren...
